Q. |
How long is the continuous usage time of the energy storage cell after
it is fully charged? |
|
A. |
The watch will be functional about 1 month with the condition of 30 minutes
dive twice in every week. Since the continuous usage time of the battery
depends on how frequent you dive and the dive time of an each dive, we
recommend to fully charge the battery before diving.
In the condition that you don't dive at all, the watch will continue to
run for about 2 months. |
|
Q. |
How long will it take to fully charge the watch? |
|
A. |
After completely discharged, the battery will be fully charged in about
7 hours. |
|
Q. |
How many times can I charge the watch with the four pieces of size AA
batteries in the charger (or the communication unit)? |
|
A. |
They last 20 to 50 times to charge completely discharged watch. (Note that
those numbers depend on the AA battery types and the quantity of the consumption
while they are left in the charger (or the communication unit.)) |
|
Q. |
How can I know if the size AA batteries in the charger (or thecommunication
unit) are consumed? |
|
A. |
The blue LED does not light up even if the watch is attached to the charger
(or the communication unit). When the size AA batteries are consumed and
the blue LED goes out while the watch is being charged, the watch is not
charged fully. Check the battery charge indicator of the watch. If the
indicator is not at the full charge level, replace the all four size AA
batteries and charge the watch again. |
|
Q. |
How long does the energy storage cell last? |
|
A. |
The battery performance drops down approximately 10% in 10 years. Since
this drop down has been already counted in the calculation of the continuous
usage time of the watch, we assume it does not affect the usage of the
watch. |

|
Charging Procedure and Charger |
|
Q. |
How do you charge the watch? |
|
A. |
Install four AA size alkaline batteries in the charger (or the communication
unit) and attach the watch onto it. Battery charging will be started automatically.
While the watch is being charged, the blue LED of the communication unit
lights up. If the watch is charged fully, the blue LED goes off. After
that, check the watch if the battery charge indicator is at the full charge
level. |
|
Q. |
Do I have to connect to PC with USB cable while charging the watch on the
communication unit? |
|
A. |
No, you don't. You only need four AA type batteries to charge the watch.
If you connect your communication unit to PC, the watch tries to build
up the connection with PC and this consumes power a little. In this case,
the time to fully charge the watch may become longer. |
|
Q. |
Is it possible to use the power supply from PC through USB connection when
charging with communication unit? |
|
A. |
No it is not. The power supply is limited to from AA size batteries. |
|
Q. |
How do I know that the watch is charged fully? |
|
A. |
The blue LED of the charger (or the communication unit) goes out. Please
check that the battery charge indicator of the watch is at the full charge
level. |
|
Q. |
Do I have to remove the watch immediately from the charger (or the communication
unit) after it is fully charged? |
|
A. |
The charger (or the communication unit) has a protection for overcharging.
There is no problem if you leave the watch onto it after it is fully charged.
But the size AA batteries in the charger (or the communication unit) will
be consumed gradually. |
|
Q. |
Can I use nickel hydrogen batteries or other rechargeable batteries instead
of the size AA alkaline batteries for charging? |
|
A. |
No. Nickel hydrogen batteries (1.2 V) have a lower voltage than alkaline
batteries (1.5 V) so that charging may not be done properly. |
|

Troubleshooting |
|
Q. |
The LED does not light when I attach the watch to the charger (or the communication
unit). Why? |
|
A. |
Please check the following.
* |
Is your watch properly attached to the charger (or communication unit)? |
-> |
The watch cannot be charged if the connection terminals on the watch are
not properly aligned with the connection terminals on the battery charger
or communication unit. Properly reposition your watch on the charger (or
communication unit). |
* |
Is your watch already fully charged? |
-> |
If your watch is already fully charged, the LED will not light. Check the
battery charge indicator of your watch. |
* |
Is the battery capacity of the battery charger or communication unit adequate? |
-> |
If the battery charge indicator of your watch does not indicate the full
status, the size AA batteries of the charger or communication unit may
be worn down. Replace the all four size AA batteries. |
|
|
Q. |
My watch does not change to the charging display when I attach it to the
charger (or communication unit). What's wrong? |
|
A. |
Your watch may not be properly connected to the charger (or communication
unit). Check if the connection terminals of the watch are properly connected
to the connection terminals of the charger (or communication unit).
If the connection is made properly and the charging display still does
not appear, please check the following.
Note:When the connection is made properly, the charging is proceeded even
if the charging display does not appear. |
* |
The watch is fully or nearly fully charged. |
* |
The watch is placed onto charger (or communication unit) right after it
is removed from it. |
* |
Charging is started when the watch is fully discharged and the watch display
is gone. |
* |
The watch is in Low Power Mode. |
* |
The all-reset procedure was performed with your watch connected to the
battery charger or communication unit. |
* |
USB communication is in progress or has been completed. (In the case charging
is done with communication unit) |
|
Q. |
The LED lights but the watch is not charged. Why? |
|
A. |
The watch may not be attached to the charger (or the communication unit)
properly. The LED lights even if the connecting terminals of the charger
(or the communication unit) touches only the case of the watch. Check that
the terminal pins of the watch and the connecting terminals of the charger
(or the communication unit) are connected properly. |
|
Q. |
The LED goes on and off while charging the energy storage cell. Why? |
|
A. |
It may happen when the watch is nearly fully charged. This is not a malfunction.
Keep charging the watch until LED goes off when it is fully charged. If
the LED keeps going on and off for a certain period of time, the size AA
batteries in the charger (or the communication unit) may have been worn
out. In this case, replace the all four size AA batteries to new ones. |
|
Q. |
The check mark "CHK" is displayed while the energy storage cell
is being charged. Why? |
|
A. |
This is not a malfunction. Keep charging until the LED goes off. |
|
Q. |
The charge level increases while the energy storage cell is not being charged.
Why? |
|
A. |
Some of the mode of this watch, especially dive mode, consumes more power
than others. The voltage of the energy storage cell becomes lower than
the other in those mode. When the watch is changed to the mode with lighter
load, the lowered voltage recovers and the level of the battery charge
indicator may be increased. This is not a malfunction. We recommend you
to charge the watch. |
